Handsome dark bay registered Appendix (thoroughbred/quarter horse cross) gelding with chrome! If you are looking for a new equine partner with the conformation and stamina of a thoroughbred but the level-headed temperament of a quarter horse, here he is! Montego Bay's pedigree reads like a Who's Who of equine royalty with quarter horses such as Doc O'Lena, Doc Bar, Poco Lena, and Hollywood Bill through the sire line, and thoroughbred greats including Bold Ruler, Northern Dancer, Nasrullah and Miss Disco through the dam line. This gelding has had lots of training, his gaits are easy to sit, and he is fun to ride either alone or in a group. Montego Bay has three balanced gaits, an easy-going personality, and does not have any vices, whatsoever. He has clean legs and good feet, and we are currently transitioning him to going barefoot (saves on the farrier bills!). He is presently going well at first level in dressage and schooling some 2nd level movements, and he is jumping 2'9 to 3'0 courses at home. He is just as solid over the novice level jumps in our cross-country field. He knows his job and is a very willing partner. This is a super "go ahead" horse for the confident advanced-beginner.
