Gateway Farm is primarily a Dressage and Eventing barn although we welcome all riding disciplines at our facility. We are located in Acampo, California, just northeast of Lodi, sitting on 55 picturesque acres surrounded by verdant rolling hills and grape vineyards, flanked by the historic gold country with views of the snowcapped Sierras. Our facility includes a main barn with oversized box stalls and box stalls with paddocks, a mare and foal barn with video monitoring, pipe stalls, individual pastures with shelters, and open group pastures with shelters. We have separate pastures for mares and foals, weanlings, yearlings and two year olds, adult mares, adult geldings, and retirees. We maintain a large outdoor arena with sand footing and a complete set of jumps, a covered arena with combination Nike/sand footing, lights, and mirrors, a large round pen, and a schooling cross-country course with a gallop track, water complex, ditch line, and bank complex. Private, semi-private and group lessons are offered, and we are also the home of the Liberty Oaks Pony Club. There is easy access to trails along the Mokelumne River, as well as groomed trails at Camanche Lake, Pardee Reservoir Recreational Area, and New Hogan Dam Recreational Area. We are within an easy 15-minute trailering distance to the Mokelumne Coast-to-Crest Trail.
In addition to maintaining and operating a boarding and training facility, we are also breeders of quality Warmblood sporthorses, whose blood lines include many of the top performance stallions in the United States and Europe. We specialize in breeding exotic colored sporthorses (Gateway Farm’s “Tastefully Decorated” Sporthorses), including the spotted Knabstrupper and Appaloosa X Warmblood crosses as well as Buckskin and Palomino Warmblood crosses. We anxiously await our colorful foal crop each spring!
We have been in the boarding, training, lesson, and breeding business since 1989 and have earned an excellent reputation. We care for each horse as if it were our own. The owner of Gateway Farm lives on-site so there is always a "watchful presence" for both security and for maintenance of the health and safety of the horses living at Gateway Farm. A number of highly qualified veterinarians and farriers practice in our immediate area.
Be sure to check out our beautiful Dalmatians, too!
