Outstanding 2019 FHANA Friesian colt by Meinse 439 out of the studbook mare, Theodora GF. Jet black. Super talented colt with an exceptional head/neck, correct legs and a fantastic friendly temperament! Leonardo’s sire, Meinse 439, is one of Iron Spring Farms outstanding dressage stallions. Like his sire, Leonardo is built uphill and has a gorgeous shapely neck, pretty face, charisma, and intelligence. Leonardo’s dam, Theodora, is a studbook mare whose pedigree reads a who’s who of Friesians with the great Hearke and Mefrou up close through her damsire Warn. Leonardo’s ½ sister out of Theodora is Giselle GF, a First Premium filly, who went on to compete at the International Friesian Horse Show and was crowned Champion Filly in both her Yearling class, and her Dressage Suitability class! Giselle is now a Ster mare and she continues to compete very successfully in both dressage and driving. Meinse’s offspring are said to inherit his three quality gaits, especially his powerful walk and balanced, expressive trot. He also passes on his jet black coat and friendly disposition. We’ve certainly witnessed these traits with Leonardo! He is a gorgeous boy with a fantastic temperament. He is a forward moving Friesian with good reach in front and engagement from behind.
